Fertilize Time

Is time to fertilize

Let it rain. We need the rain. It's time to fertilize as well. The rain came today and it poured in bucket fulls. So, its time to fertilize. As I mentioned in an earlier blog the best kind if fertilizer is the 30-10-0. from Intermountian Farmers Assc. There are locations throughout the valley. Listed below is a nutrient that needs to be fed into the lawn.

Iron

Iron is the nutrient that needs to be added to your lawn every spring. Now you need to go to your nearest nursery or feed store and purchase the Iron. In the valley here the soil lacks iron. So, follow the directions on the side or back of the container. It will measure in square feet and coverage as well. In Utah, we are in zone 5.
It is by far wise to add the iron to the lawn because of all the alkaline in our soil. The iron will serve as a good nutrient for your summer growing season. Good luck.

Happy gardening,
Marsha
