Planting vegetables on a budget

Planting vegetables

Have you planted your peas yet? Your peas should be planted in the earth by now. The middle of March is the ideal time to plant your peas. Hmm. I can taste them now.

Another vegetable you may want to plant for early eating is the favorite radish. Any of the root bound vegetables are ready to go in the earth. A few the of these are carrots and potatoes will be so nice to dig up in a couple of months and have potatoes and peas for supper. The kind of potatoes that I like to plant are the Pontiac potatoes. They are so nice to eat for even a snack.

In conclusion, for your tomatoes you may want to use the time frame of May 15.
By this date you are sure to be free of any more frost nights to worry about.
Some gardeners wait until Memorial Day to plant. This is fine too. We all have our personal preference to consider.

Planting - When planting your vegetables make certain that you plant the whole deep enough. Use fencing so you can keep away pets that want to dig in the earth. So, protect your vegetables always for good success. Cover tomtatoes if frost is upon us.

Watering - You will want to keep the plants watered daily. In early spring the rain and snow will help with the processs. But as tempertures warm,be sure to have your water can on hand and of course your trusty hose for effective water needs.

Hoeing - You may want to keep your hoe close to the garden for those unwanted weeds that want to crop up. These weeds will be ready to grow as well.

Have a great growing season...
